Isaac Blesses Jacob

1When Isaac was old and ahis eyes were dim so that he could not see, he called Esau his older son and said to him, “My son”; and he answered, “Here I am.”

Genesis 48:10

10Now bthe eyes of Israel were dim with age, so that he could not see. So Joseph brought them near him, cand he kissed them and embraced them.

2At that time Eli, dwhose eyesight had begun to grow dim so that he could not see, was lying down in his own place.

Ecclesiastes 11:7-8

7Light is sweet, and it is pleasant for the eyes to gsee the sun.

8So if a person lives many years, let him rejoice in them all; but let him remember hthat the days of darkness will be many. All that comes is ivanity.
The Hebrew term hebel can refer to a “vapor” or “mere breath”; also verse 10 (see note on 1:2)
